Collective Pulse
The Other Side of Dalston is a photographic series drawn from an outdoor club night curated by NTS Radio in Gillett Square, Dalston, on 15 June 2024. Set against a familiar public space, the work captures a different rhythm of the area — where music, movement and collective release transform the square into a temporary site of connection.
Working within the crowd, I documented moments of joy, intimacy and self-expression as people came together through sound and shared energy. The images reflect how music culture creates its own language — one that cuts across backgrounds and identities, offering a sense of belonging outside formal venues and commercial nightlife.
This project explores Dalston beyond its usual narratives, revealing how public space can be reclaimed through culture. The Other Side of Dalston is about presence, freedom and the fleeting communities that form when the city moves to the same beat.
